I just bought the rack and pinion repair kit from Jeep Perf. My rack knocks pretty badly. Should I go ahead and get a remanufactured rack and install it into my Jeep with the repair kit or just use the original rack?
Try adjusting your existing rack first before paying for a new rack. Tighten the EasyAdjust nut 1/4 of a turn and see if the knocking stops. Also make sure it is not what is attached to the rack that is knocking, like inner tie rods or rod ends.
