2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee/Commander HydroPoly Front Differential Pinion Side Mount Bushing with Zerk fitting and Installation Hardware Long Life, Polyurethane Steel, Front Differential Isolator Mount - Bushing When the stock rubber bushings get old they harden, become brittle and start to break down, allowing the front differential to move excessively. This can then cause the front half axles and propeller shaft to be at extreme angles while trying to transfer power to the wheels, causing excessive wear and premature failure of these components. This ultimately also causes a knock sounding jolt when shifting from P or R to D or vice versa as the differential rotates and slams against the chassis. This bushing design, reduces most excessive movements of the differential and minimizes the problems that it can potentially cause. While this mount reduce differential movements for excellent power transfer from the drive train to the ground, it does not contribute excessive NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) to the driver inside the cabin due to the HydroPoly design and the softer properties of the polyurethane compound used. The differential pinion mount bushing has to withstand the full torque of the engine and is usually the first one to fail. It sustain the most abuse. The OEM rubber types have a very short life due to the extreme torque load on them and get replaced often. Our HydroPoly bushing upgrade to the OEM pinion mount, is made of high quality, soft polyurethane material with steel sleeve. It will not only firm up the front axle assembly and eliminate that mushy feel associated with the factory rubber bushings, but it will transmit the most torque and have a very long service life compared to its OEM rubber counterpart, reducing future labor costs and vehicle down time. The Hydropoly bushing comes complete with its installation hardware. The bolt is Zerk fitted with carefully drilled holed to allow for regular internal lubrication of the bushing. Once installed, synthetic grease needs to be applied and packed in. This bushing design, once pressed in and installed, seals itself shut so once installed a healthy shot of synthetic grease needs to be applied. Grease helps prolong the life of PU, keeps it pliable and helps in dampening any NVH from the drive train. The bushing needs to be pressed in properly. The sleeve of each half needs to be pressed in, then the PU followed by the internal metal pins, which are made to get pressed in into each other and seal the bushing. The Zerk fitting end needs to be towards the front of the vehicle for easy lubrication. - Polyurethane Steel Front Differential Axle Isolator BushingWhen the stock rubber bushings get old, the rubber degrades, becomes brittle and starts to crack, allowing the front differential to move and hit the chassis excessively. This causes the front half axles and propeller shaft to be at extreme angles at times while trying to transfer power to the wheels, causing excessive wear and premature failure of these components. This also causes a clunk sounding jolt when shifting from P or R to D or vice versa as the differential rotates and slams against the chassis. This modern bushing design when used as a complete set, reduces most excessive movements of the front differential and minimizes the associated problems that come with it.While these mounts reduce differential movement for excellent power transfer from the drive train to the ground, they do not contribute excessive NVH to the driver inside the cabin due to the softer properties of the compound used.Made of special high quality polyurethane material with a steel sleeve and crush pin, these polyurethane bushings will not only firm up the front axle assembly and eliminate that mushy feel associated with the factory stock rubber bushings, but they will also have a longer service life compared to their rubber counterparts.Economically, these bushings present an excellent value by not having to be replaced as often as OEM ones, thus saving future labor costs and vehicle down time. Each bushing comes pre lubricated, preassembled and ready to install into your Jeep. Once installed, no further servicing is required.Equivalent to Mopar part number 52089516AB
